This week in English, in preparation for writing our diary entries we were learning to infer chatacter's feelings using evidence from the text. We used the zone of relevance to justify why we imagined the character to feel a certain why or not. We then selected words which we thought we might like to use in our diary writing.

In Geography, we were learning about the features of a desert biome. We used our knowledge to understand what it would be like in the desert because we know that it is in the arid climate zone near the line of latitude called the Equator. We discovered that it's not sand and heat that make a desert, a desert! It's an area of land that receives no more than 25cm of precipitation a year. We enjoyed creating a desert biome in jars, thinking about the landscape, the climate, the plants and animals that live there. We then drew a diagram.
