w/c 3.2.25

This week in Art, we were learning to understand the symbolism behind Van Gogh's paintings. We looked at his colour palette and the objects within his landscape and thought about what these symbolised. We used our thoughts as a starting point for our final piece. We then learnt the difference between drawing and sketching. We began to sketch what we wanted our final piece might look like.

In Science, we have been learning how a shadow is formed. We learnt that blocking light creates a shadow. We were then using a range of objects to block the light to see which type of object formed the best shadow. We used our previous knowledge of transparent, translucent and opaque objects to help us during our investigation.

This week we also took a trip to Burnley College to watch Beauty and the Beast the musical! The children had a wonderful time and were eager to discuss the events and their favourite characters upon returning to school!
