This week in Science we began by going to Year 2 who have recently studied plants in Science and we asked the experts to activate our prior knowledge! We then observed a range of plants including Venus Flytrap and cacti to answer our question, 'If plants could talk, what would they say?' The children knew they needed water, soil, air, sunlight and space to be able to grow. We then continued our learning by going outside to identify parts of a plant.

In Grammar, we have been learning to use the subordinating conjunctions until, although and since. The children were practising moving the subordinating clause and using the comma to demarcate the clauses.

We loved selecting our books for pleasure this week - we will be bringing these home too which is very exciting! They enjoyed reading the blurbs and the first couple of pages to decide if it was the book for them!

In Art, we began studying our new sculpture artist Zaha Hadid - we were interested in the shapes and curves she used to design the buildings. We learnt that she was inspired by nature!
