Support for Families
Being a parent is not always an easy ride, we all need a little help from time to time navigating our way through the tough times. With this in mind, we have tried to create an easily accessible page full of helpful links, supportive agencies and places for you to contact.
You know the behaviours, routines, triggers and challenges that you are experiencing and what would work best within your family setting to help get back on track.
Support is also available for Health Needs and Special Educational Needs.
Some of the strategies used by the support agencies are evidence-based and have successfully helped children and families with a wide variety of individual needs.
Parents can access the support directly and discreetly.
We also post any new support we come across on Dojo, so keep a look out and don’t hesitate to contact us should you need anything further.
We aim to keep this information page as up to date as we can and should you not be able to access the links, please let us know.

'We are working together with partner organisations like the NHS or schools to provide you with the help you need, without having to repeat yourself to lots of different people.'

Primary 4-11
Within primary school, the school nursing service is available to support your children with a multitude of problems. We will conduct the National Child Measurement Programme within Reception and Year 6 and ask parents of Reception age children to complete a health questionnaire, while giving our Year 6 pupils the opportunity to complete the questionnaire themselves.
This section of the website has some information and links to support with Sleep, Internet Safety, Health Conditions – asthma, epilepsy, anaphylaxis, dental and eyesight, Children and Family Wellbeing Service, Healthy Lifestyles, Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, Emotional and Mental Health, Behaviour, Headlice or Nits, Constipation and Bed Wetting.

'What we do'
The service offers therapeutic one-to-one, group work and counselling support to children and young people aged 5 to 18 (extending to 25 years based on SEN need) within the whole of the Lancashire & South Cumbria Integrated Care Board (ICB) area.
Please note: The MyTime to THRIVE Service is NOT a crisis service. We provide support to children & young people with low – moderate mental health needs.

If you have noticed your child is feeling frequently sad, worried or anxious and feel they may need support from our team, please speak to a member of staff at your child’s school who will refer you directly to the service.
When we receive your child’s referral, we will look at the information provided and decide whether our service is best to see your child or another service such as the Child Psychology Service.
The first appointment with us is referred to as the initial appointment or screening for both your child and you to attend. This is a safe place where you can discuss the worries and difficulties your child is experiencing, and we can explain how we can help and support you and your child. We can meet face to face or virtually and, if we feel we can help your child, we will involve you in the planning of your child’s care.
Neu Way Support - Spring North
As a parent or carer, you know your child better than anyone. If you’ve noticed changes in how they communicate, learn, interact or experience the world, it’s natural to have questions. You may be wondering what those differences mean, where to seek advice or how to find the right support.
Neu Way Support is a service that recognises that every family’s journey is unique. For many, the path to understanding their child’s needs can feel overwhelming, with long waiting times, a lot of information to navigate and uncertainty about what to do next. That’s why Neu Way Support was created.
Support Starts Here. No waiting list. No diagnosis required.
