Reading

We would encourage all children to read to an adult at least three times a week and to have their reading record signed. Children should put completed books into the blue 'Please change my book' box to have them replaced.  If your child is still reading the book they need to put it in the red box.  Books need to be in school every day please.  Children can change their books every day if it is signed and placed in the box at the beginning of the day.   If your child reads 3 times a week every week, they will get 1 shining star.  After 10 shining stars they will be able to have afternoon tea with Miss Ramsbottom at the end of each half term.

Homework

Homework will be sent home each Friday and we will need to have it back to school by Wednesday.  I will send spelling patterns and some spellings for your child to work on via Class Dojo.  There are no formal tests but we do expect children to be able to write these words in their work correctly after they have been given them.    The children will have activities set on Mathletics as usual. The children will be able to access and play their own games on Spelling Shed as they wish.

PE

Our PE days are Monday and Thursday. Please make sure children have their full PE kit in school and it would be really helpful if items of clothing are labelled.  Children will also need an outdoor PE in school at all times.  Please can any children who wear earring remove them on PE days. 

Water Bottles

Please can children bring a labelled waterbottle to school every day.  They will be encouraged to drink regularly throughout the day.
